Over 20 applications were reviewed and matched against the wish list of the executive committee, past presidents, Sherman and Litie. This has not been done for 15 years because Ms. Bassett was promoted to the office. David Brown comes to us as the former associate director of the New Car Dealers of Ohio.

DAVID BROWN

Does not know a lot about chiropractic. He is an attorney and has also been a lobbyist and is well known at the state house. Wants to be an executive director because he wants to be a consultant to chiropractic because the profession changes the lives of people that receive it.

At this time he does not have a lot of vision but he adds that he is very well focused to set strategies, tactics to achieve the goals which the association will set. He also states that communication is extremely important and battling to "protect our turf". He wants to help the practices of the association's members.

KEITH BROOKS

Joining up with OSMA to find out who is responsible for med reviewers that deny care for services which you believe are medically necessary. Who is liable?

ROB SHERMAN

BWC: Simplification of BWC - OSCA via Fairbaugh/Potete.

--Provider task and timeline chart: Who is required to do what and in what amount of time. Anthem and Care Works worked on developing a standardized form that the doctors submit. BWC will utilize Mercy and OSCA guidelines. Make sure you appeal. Pottete will appeal to Joyce Rogers.

--Ms. Rogers was at Dr. Fairbaugh's office with his collection people and listened to the representatives of the MCO's and she heard first hand all the BS that their representatives are giving D.C.'s

--MCO's are stuck in utilization management without case management! OSCA wants to have the MCO's call the docs and ask them.

--Provider surveys - if you didn't get one make sure you do. Properly documented supportive care should be paid for.

--TOS reduction will be published this week.

--State run plans have to have chiropractic care.

--February 24, 1998 meeting at the state house for legislative reception. Be there!

--Kennedy wants to mandate health insurance to employees who work more than 20 hours. It doesn't matter if the spouse has insurance.
